TikTok Shop Late Dispatch Rate (LDR): What It Is and How to Keep It Low
Max Semion has spent the past several years working inside Amazon FBA and multi-marketplace operations — auditing accounts, untangling suspensions, and building the kind of monitoring systems that catch a problem before it becomes a deactivation notice. He writes about what actually moves the needle for sellers, not theory.

Short Answer
Late Dispatch Rate (LDR) shows how often a TikTok Shop seller fails to hand an order to the carrier in time. For regular US orders the deadline is 2 business days. TikTok recommends keeping LDR at or below 4%, and enforcement may apply above 10%.
What Is Late Dispatch Rate on TikTok Shop?
Late Dispatch Rate (LDR) measures how consistently a seller meets the dispatch deadline for orders. TikTok's Fulfillment Policy defines it at shop level as the share of orders not marked In Transit within the dispatch deadline. You can see it in Seller Center under Orders, on the Fulfillment Performance tab.
An order counts as late when the carrier has not scanned it and its status has not changed to "In Transit" within the deadline. Handing the parcel to the carrier is not enough: the carrier's first scan is what counts.
What Are the TikTok Shop Dispatch Deadlines?
For US sellers, the deadlines depend on the order type. All of them are business days, counted from when the order reaches Awaiting Shipment, and business days exclude weekends and US federal holidays.
| Order type | Must be In Transit | Auto-cancel if no tracking | Must be delivered |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regular | 2 business days after Awaiting Shipment | 5 business days | 6 business days |
| Made-to-Order, Backorder, Custom Handling | Your handling time + 1 day | Handling time + 4 days | Handling time + 5 days |
| Pre-Order | 2 days after the pre-order closes | 5 days after closing | 6 days after closing |

What Is a Good Late Dispatch Rate?
TikTok recommends an LDR of 4% or below. Enforcement may apply if more than 10% of your orders miss the dispatch deadline.
Example: if you ship 200 orders and 12 are late, your LDR is 6%. That's above the recommended 4% but below the 10% enforcement mark. If 25 are late (12.5%), you're in the enforcement zone.
What TikTok doesn't say
The policy doesn't publish an evaluation window or say what happens between 4% and 10%. Treat 4% as your target, not as a safe limit to hover around.
What Happens If Your LDR Is Too High?
TikTok's Fulfillment Policy lists these possible actions when fulfillment standards are missed:
- Account Health Rating point deductions
- Temporarily lower visibility for your shop or products
- Product listings removed
- Access to sell revoked
- Order volume limits
- Refunds issued to customers
- Account deactivation
TikTok does not publish point values for these actions.
Does LDR hurt your Shop Performance Score? Not directly, according to TikTok's LDR page. But a late dispatch makes late delivery more likely, and late delivery lowers your On-Time Delivery Rate (OTDR), which does count.
Which Other Fulfillment Numbers Does TikTok Track?
LDR is one of four fulfillment metrics in TikTok's US Fulfillment Policy, and each has its own hard number:
| Metric | TikTok's number | Plain meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Late Dispatch Rate (LDR) | 4% or below recommended; enforcement may apply above 10% | Orders shipped late |
| On-Time Delivery Rate (OTDR) | At least 80%, calculated weekly | Orders delivered in time |
| Valid Tracking Rate (VTR) | At least 95% | Orders with a working tracking number |
| Seller-Fault Cancellation Rate (SFCR) | 2.5% or below | Orders you cancelled yourself |
Fulfilled by TikTok (FBT) orders are exempt from OTDR, and FBT and TikTok Shipping orders are exempt from VTR. For LDR, the policy exempts only FBT orders, so TikTok Shipping orders still count.
Other marketplaces grade the same habits. Walmart has a 5% late shipment limit among its eight seller performance standards, and Etsy's Star Seller badge needs 95% of orders shipped on time — see why sellers keep losing Etsy Star Seller status.
Does LDR Matter for Dropshipping on TikTok Shop?
Yes, a lot. The Fulfillment Policy page does not mention dropshipping or carve out dropshipped orders, so assume the same 2-day clock applies to every order, whoever packs the box.
In dropshipping, you don't control the shelf: the supplier controls the speed. That's why LDR is the number most likely to hurt a new dropshipping store. (Our advice, not TikTok's policy.)
How Do You Keep Late Dispatch Rate Low? (7 Steps)
These are our recommendations, based on TikTok's rules. Where a step quotes TikTok, it says so.
- Choose suppliers by handling time, not just price. Pick suppliers that ship within 1 business day, and ask for their real average, not their promise.
- Set an honest handling time. Use Made-to-Order or Custom Handling Time for slower items. Your deadline becomes your handling time + 1 day, instead of a late dispatch.
- Watch the To Ship tab daily. Manage Orders shows the exact dispatch deadline for each order.
- Check the carrier scan, not the label. An order is on time only after the carrier's first scan. TikTok says to make sure carriers complete acceptance scans within 2 business days.
- Use the Order Handling Capacity tool and Holiday Mode. Cap daily order volume at what your supplier can handle, and switch on Holiday Mode before closures.
- Add buffer before holidays. Business days skip weekends and federal holidays, so a Friday order is due Tuesday — or Wednesday after a Monday holiday.
- Keep evidence for appeals. Save tracking lists, carrier notices and order IDs. TikTok's page says to appeal a disruption-related penalty with a carrier delay notice, proof of attempted pickup or drop-off, and the affected order IDs.
Can You Appeal a Late Dispatch Penalty?
Yes. TikTok's LDR page describes appeals for delays outside your control, such as a carrier delay or an LDR that's been recorded wrongly. Third-party sources report — and we could not confirm this on TikTok's own pages — that each enforcement can be appealed twice: the first within 30 days, and the second within 15 days of a rejected first appeal. Check Seller Center for the current limits.
What Changed in 2026?
- January 26, 2026: 2-business-day dispatch rule listed on TikTok's LDR page.
- June 4, 2026 (reported): ZQ Solution reports that TikTok published updated LDR requirements with a formal appeals process covering carrier-caused delays and platform errors.
- June 15, 2026 (reported): Common Thread Collective reports a new LDR formula that also counts orders still unshipped past the deadline, with enforcement starting in July 2026.
We could not confirm the June changes on TikTok's own pages, so check Seller Center before relying on them. Separately, TikTok's early-2026 plan to end seller-managed shipping was called off — see Does TikTok Shop Still Allow Independent Shipping?

It can. High LDR can lead to Account Health Rating deductions, lower visibility, order limits, or deactivation. It also affects your On-Time Delivery Rate, which counts toward your performance score.
TikTok's Fulfillment Policy page does not address dropshipping. It does apply the same dispatch deadlines to every order, so your supplier must be fast enough to meet them. Check TikTok's current seller policies before you start.
